I, ____________________________________, a Potential New Member (PNM) participating in the University of Mississippi Formal Recruitment Process in 2024, hereby agree to abide by the following rules:

 1. To be eligible for Formal Recruitment, Potential New Members (PNMs) must be accepted and enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) at the University of Mississippi. Potential New Members must also attend any and all programming required by the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL).

2. To be eligible for Formal Recruitment, Potential New Members must meet the minimum GPA requirement of a 2.70/4.0. process.

3. Potential New Members must attend all academic classes and labs during and prior to the Formal Recruitment period for the duration of the scheduled class time.

4. The no contact period begins at August 23rd 2024, at which time PNM and active brothers will no longer be able to have any form of contact during the formal recruitment process.

5. Potential New Members will be allowed to visit any chapter houses until the no contact period which begins on August 23rd, 2024 at 7PM CST.

6. Potential New Members must attend all rounds appearing on their final printed schedules for the entire Formal Recruitment week. Failure to attend all rounds on the final printed schedule will result in removal from the Formal Recruitment process.

7. The Interfraternity Council officers must approve any emergencies or illness that may prevent attendance. Any PNM who does not attend an event without an approved excuse will be asked to leave the Formal Recruitment process.

8. Potential New Members are required to attend the Formal Recruitment events at the time officially scheduled to them. This is to prevent confusion and promote an efficient recruitment process. Failure to be present for roll call at the beginning of each round could result in removal from the Formal Recruitment process.

9. Potential New Members must be respectful to all fraternity men and may not spread rumors or make disparaging remarks about chapters, chapter members, or other PNMs.

10. Formal Recruitment (including Bid Day) is a substance free process. Men may not use, be in possession of, or be in the presence of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any nicotine products during the Formal Recruitment week.

11. Any PNM found to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any nicotine substance during Formal Recruitment will be immediately removed from the Formal Recruitment process.

12. PNMs who are reported to have breached University of Mississippi policy, the Interfraternity Bylaws, or the law may be promptly terminated from the Formal Recruitment process.

13. If a PNM wishes to withdraw from Formal Recruitment, he must complete a withdrawal form, which can be obtained from the Vice President of Recruitment, any IFC Officer, or Fraternity and Sorority Life Staff.

14. It is recommended that PNMs be fully aware of the academic and financial obligations of membership before accepting a bid. It is to their advantage to ask questions during Formal Recruitment events if they have questions about academics or finances.

15. Following Round 3, if Potential New Members wish to be eligible to join a fraternity, they must complete and sign a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA). Once you complete the MRABA you will be ineligible to join any other fraternity for one calendar year from the date of signing.

16. It is not guaranteed that every Potential New Member who participates in Formal Recruitment will receive a membership invitation, or fraternity bid.

17. Potential New Members, or any other student enrolled at the University of Mississippi, are not permitted to accept a chapter membership invitation outside of the Formal Recruitment process or Open Bidding period.

18. Potential New Members are urged to keep an open mind during Formal Recruitment to ensure any decisions they make are their own.

The University of Mississippi Interfraternity Council expects all potential new members to conduct themselves in accordance with these agreements and all applicable University of Mississippi policies.

Should I choose to violate any of the above agreements, I am subject to immediate removal from the Formal Recruitment process.
